En ce 21\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, le stress est devenu un \u00e9l\u00e9ment \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re de nos vies. Qu\u2019est-ce que le stress ? Quel effet a-t-il sur nous \u00e0 long terme ? Comment pouvons-nous l\u2019\u00e9liminer de nos vies?<\/p>\n<h1>Stress et maladie<\/h1>\n<p>Les docteurs et les chercheurs en m\u00e9decine ont d\u00e9couvert que le stress a des effets sur notre sant\u00e9. Ils savent d\u00e9sormais que le stress peut affaiblir notre syst\u00e8me immunitaire et, ainsi, laisser la voie ouverte \u00e0 diverses maladies. Le stress affecte le bon fonctionnement de certains de nos syst\u00e8mes corporels destin\u00e9s \u00e0 nous pr\u00e9server de la maladie. Il active notre syst\u00e8me de d\u00e9fense qui lui-m\u00eame d\u00e9clenche des r\u00e9actions biochimiques au sein de notre organisme.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque nous sommes stress\u00e9s, notre rythme cardiaque s\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e8re. Certaines hormones sont alors diffus\u00e9es, afin de nous prot\u00e9ger. Une fois d\u00e9clench\u00e9, le processus est irr\u00e9versible. Le syst\u00e8me d\u2019alerte qui \u00e9tait originellement destin\u00e9 \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger notre int\u00e9grit\u00e9 physique est activ\u00e9 ; et ce, m\u00eame en cas de situations relevant de la vie quotidienne et ne pr\u00e9sentant aucun danger pour notre vie.<\/p>\n<h2>Notre corps est frapp\u00e9 par un \u00e9tat de stress chronique<\/h2>\n<p>Nous devenons porteurs d\u2019un \u00e9tat de stress ou d\u2019un \u00e9tat dans lequel notre corps r\u00e9pond \u00e0 des peurs et des menaces qui, pour certaines d\u2019entre elles, se situent uniquement au niveau mental. N\u2019\u00e9tant ni en train de nous d\u00e9fendre ni en train de fuir, notre corps n\u2019est pas en mesure d\u2019\u00e9vacuer le stress dont il est porteur et ce dernier nous accompagne tout au long de nos journ\u00e9es. Il se peut que, du fait du stress, nous souffrions de maux de t\u00eate, de maux d\u2019estomac, de probl\u00e8mes respiratoires et de nervosit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h2>Ma\u00eetriser le stress afin de gu\u00e9rir le corps<\/h2>\n<p>Alors que nous sommes parfois dans l\u2019incapacit\u00e9 d\u2019emp\u00eacher la transmission d\u2019un certain nombre de maladies g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques, ou d\u2019affections qui se propagent au moyen de l\u2019air, rien ne nous emp\u00eache d\u2019adopter des comportements qui nous permettront de ma\u00eetriser notre propre stress. Il est possible de r\u00e9duire et m\u00eame d\u2019\u00e9liminer le stress de nos vies. Mais \u00e9liminer le stress ne signifie pas \u00e9liminer les probl\u00e8mes. Il y aura toujours des difficult\u00e9s ! Mais les r\u00e9ponses que nous leur apporterons n\u2019auront plus de cons\u00e9quences n\u00e9fastes sur notre sant\u00e9 physique.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Nous pouvons, dans le cadre de nos vies, recourir \u00e0 une technique qui, \u00e0 mon avis, peut nous aider \u00e0 g\u00e9rer notre stress. Cette technique est la m\u00e9ditation. En apprenant l\u2019art de la m\u00e9ditation, nous nous doterons d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de d\u00e9fense qui nous pr\u00e9servera de tout stress. La solution consiste \u00e0 apporter \u00e0 nos probl\u00e8mes un autre type de r\u00e9ponses ; leur apporter des r\u00e9ponses qui ne provoqueront pas de r\u00e9actions physiques.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Si nous apprenions \u00e0 m\u00e9diter, nous serions en mesure de faire face \u00e0 nos difficult\u00e9s sans d\u00e9r\u00e9gler notre syst\u00e8me physiologique. Notre corps et notre mental sont d\u00e9tendus. Nous faisons l\u2019exp\u00e9rience d\u2019un \u00e9tat de qui\u00e9tude. D\u00e8s que notre corps sera calme et apais\u00e9, les r\u00e9actions physiques au stress dispara\u00eetront. On dit aussi que la m\u00e9ditation nous permet de nous reposer davantage que le m\u00eame temps pass\u00e9 \u00e0 dormir. Pourquoi ? Pendant le sommeil, nous pouvons r\u00eaver. Ces r\u00eaves peuvent \u00eatre bons ou stressants. Notre corps peut r\u00e9agir \u00e0 nos r\u00eaves pendant le sommeil comme il le ferait s&rsquo;il \u00e9tait \u00e9veill\u00e9. Nous nous agitons et nous tournons dans notre sommeil. En m\u00e9ditation, par contre, nous sommes parfaitement immobiles. Notre mental est immobile et il n&rsquo;y a pas de pens\u00e9es ou de r\u00eaves stressants auxquels nous pourrions r\u00e9agir. Il s&rsquo;agit donc d&rsquo;un moment de paix pour notre corps.<\/p>\n<h2>Se tourner vers la m\u00e9ditation tout au long de la journ\u00e9e<\/h2>\n<p>Si nous prenons l&rsquo;habitude de m\u00e9diter, nous pouvons faire appel \u00e0 cette m\u00eame r\u00e9ponse lorsque nous nous trouvons dans une situation difficile. Plut\u00f4t que de r\u00e9agir imm\u00e9diatement, nous pouvons prendre un moment de m\u00e9ditation silencieuse avant de r\u00e9agir. Nous pouvons nous mettre dans cet \u00e9tat de m\u00e9ditation et de calme \u00e0 tout moment pour nous d\u00e9fendre contre une r\u00e9action qui nous stresse.<\/p>\n<p>Nous serions \u00e9galement en mesure, y compris au beau milieu d\u2019une situation tendue et tout en gardant les yeux ouverts, d\u2019apprendre \u00e0 acc\u00e9der, par nous-m\u00eames, \u00e0 un tel \u00e9tat d\u2019\u00eatre. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une r\u00e9ponse que nous devrions porter au-dedans de nous durant toute la journ\u00e9e\u00a0; elle nous permettra de demeurer calmes m\u00eame lorsque nous serons confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des situations difficiles. Au d\u00e9but, il nous faudra peut-\u00eatre un peu de temps pour parvenir \u00e0 atteindre un tel \u00e9tat. N\u00e9anmoins, plus nous m\u00e9diterons plus il nous sera facile d\u2019y acc\u00e9der et d\u2019en faire l\u2019exp\u00e9rience \u00e0 tout moment de la journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h2>Le fait de voir notre stress r\u00e9duit gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la m\u00e9ditation sera une source d\u2019inspiration pour autrui<\/h2>\n<p>Si chacun d\u2019entre nous faisait, individuellement, l\u2019apprentissage de la m\u00e9ditation et la mettait en pratique en vue de relever les d\u00e9fis auxquels nous sommes quotidiennement confront\u00e9s, nous constaterions que nous serions, et ce quelles que soient les circonstances, plus calmes et plus efficaces. Ceux qui viendraient \u00e0 notre rencontre, afin de comprendre ce qui nous conduit \u00e0 r\u00e9agir si calmement, seraient positivement influenc\u00e9s et essayeraient de mener leur vie \u00e0 notre exemple. C\u2019est par notre propre exemple que nous serons le plus \u00e0 m\u00eame d\u2019inspirer et d\u2019influencer autrui. De cette fa\u00e7on, au fil du temps, nous inciterons de nombreuses personnes \u00e0 s\u2019essayer \u00e0 la m\u00e9ditation en vue d\u2019en faire un outil qui leur permettra de r\u00e9duire leur stress physique\u00a0;
