Ride the Wave of Divine Love in Meditation

August 16, 2026

This afternoon, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj spoke at the SOS International Meditation Center in Lisle, Illinois. He addressed the passion and yearning that must awaken within the soul to propel it on its journey back to God.

Every human being seeks happiness, he said. Yet the happiness we derive from the world, whether through achievement, relationships, possessions, or experiences, inevitably passes. It is only when we begin to recognize the fleeting nature of these joys that the search for lasting happiness begins within us. It is this search which leads us to awaken to our true identity as soul, and this is the purpose for which we have been given this precious human birth: to journey back to our Source and find our merger in God.

However, simply knowing our destination is not enough; we must yearn to reach it. Once we recognize our separation from God, the attractions of this outer world no longer satisfy its deepest longing. It is this restlessness that provides the force for the soul’s journey Godward.

The spiritual Master said that in the beginning of a spiritual journey, the pull of the world is very strong. Responsibilities, desires, attachments, ambitions, and countless distractions continually draw our attention outward. To reverse that current requires tremendous effort. We must find time to meditate when the world demands our attention elsewhere. We must repeatedly gather our scattered attention and turn it within, meditating sincerely, daily, and regularly.  At some point, a flood of divine love takes hold and wave upon wave of longing for God carries the soul forward to its Home. This promise awaits every yearning soul.
