Science of Spirituality advocates a vegetarian diet to improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

It wasn’t too long ago that vegetarianism was looked upon as an unconventional lifestyle choice. No longer!

Today, in homes and restaurants, offices and schools, different types of vegetarianism have become mainstream—accepted, respected, even admired ways of living. Being vegetarian has never been easier or more enjoyable.

We typically invite the public to programs that include:

  • vegetarian cooking classes
  • workshops and seminars on healthy living
  • new recipes and tips for meal planning
  • a chance to experience the spiritual benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle

Some choose to be vegetarian because it conserves our planet’s valuable resources. Others, for better health. Still others, out of a regard for all life.

These are all great reasons. But throughout the ages, spiritual Masters have encouraged vegetarianism for an even more compelling reason. They stress that it is one of the cornerstones of a successful meditative and spiritual life.

Bottom line: a fresh, balanced vegetarian diet nourishes our whole person—body, mind, and soul.


Science of Spirituality is the host sponsor of Veggie Fest, a two-day, summer festival for the whole family. Offered as a public service and based on the principle of respect for all life, Veggie Fest is a way of introducing the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle to the community at large.

The festival is on hold this year due to Covid-19 considerations. But you can look forward to future events:

  • free talks by leading doctors, researchers, and other health professionals
  • free cooking demonstrations by famous vegetarian chefs and authors
  • a huge international vegetarian food court

  • live music with well-known bands

Spicy Chili

A hearty pot of chili, quick and easy to prepare, is perfect for feeding a large group. Crunchy corn chips and a bowl of guacamole are perfect complements.


  • 1 large onion, chopped
  •  2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  •  15 ounces organic pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  •  15 ounces organic black beans, drained and rinsed
  •  14 ounces frozen organic corn, thawed and drained (or fresh)
  •  30 ounces diced organic tomatoes with liquid
  •  1 ½ cups veggie ground burger
  •  1 cup water
  •  15 ounces organic vegan refried beans
  •  1 tablespoon dried basil
  •  1 tablespoon chili powder
  •  2 teaspoons cumin powder
  •  2 cloves garlic, minced
  •  1 teaspoon onion powder
  •  Juice of 1/2 lemon
  •  2 teaspoons maple syrup
  •  1 cup medium picante salsa
  •  Salt and black pepper
