Awakening to the Truth of Our Existence

October 23, 2026

During a spiritual program in Kashipur, Uttarakhand (India), Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj spoke on the predicament of human life. Absorbed in the world of the senses, we spend our days pursuing wealth, possessions, relationships, recognition, and worldly accomplishments, believing these will bring lasting happiness. We take pride in our achievements, often forgetting the divine Power that sustains our very existence.

Yet when life takes an unexpected turn, when difficulties arise or we experience tragedy in our lives, deeper questions begin to surface. Who are we? What is the purpose of this life? What happens when we die? These moments of questioning can become a blessing, awakening us to a truth we have long overlooked: we are not the physical body, but the soul that gives it life.

The spiritual Master emphasized that the body is temporary, while the soul is of the same essence as God. Our true purpose is not merely to accumulate worldly treasures, but to discover the divine riches within and return to our eternal Home.

When we recognize how the mind has kept us entangled in this world, we begin to understand our helplessness and our need for God’s grace. The path back to God is the path of love, and in the narrow lane of divine love, there is no room for ego. To become one with God, we must gradually relinquish our sense of separateness.

Maharaj Ji explained that God, the Creator of all, makes no distinction between people. Regardless of nationality, religion, language, or outward appearance, we are all souls, children of the same divine Source. The Power of God, known as Naam or Shabd, the divine Light and Sound, reverberates within every one of us. It is through contact with this Power that the soul can regain its original purity and overcome the influence of the mind.

The purpose of this precious human birth is to know ourselves as soul, experience God within, and attain God-realization in this very lifetime.
