New Science of Spirituality Meditation Center Opens in Pasadena
A beacon of peace and service for the Los Angeles community
Pasadena, California – November 28, 2025 – Science of Spirituality today announced the opening of its new meditation center at 920 North Summit Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91103, inaugurated by world-renowned Spiritual Master and Meditation Teacher, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, as part of his 2025 “Tour of Love” visit to Los Angeles.
Located in Pasadena’s historic Garfield Heights neighborhood, the 10,000 sq ft property was originally built in 1927 and, for over 35 years, served as home to the Los Angeles Buddhist Vihara. The California community acquired the site in January 2020 and has since completed a multi-year renovation, preserving the building’s historic exterior while fully updating the interior for modern use and accessibility.
The new center features a 5,800 sq ft sanctuary that seats approximately 120 people, with an ADA-compliant layout, whitewashed interior, and stained-glass windows that create a calm setting for meditation and reflection. The lower level includes a community kitchen, dining area, library, and office space. A nearby residence, affectionately called the “white house,” hosts children’s programs and offers a welcoming space for families.
At the inauguration, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj and his beloved wife Mata Rita Ji were welcomed by members of the local community, who had waited five years for a permanent spiritual home in Los Angeles. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the center, followed by a program that highlighted the Pasadena community’s recent support for Eden Wildfire victims through meal distribution and humanitarian assistance.
In his remarks, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, emphasized that a dedicated center offers people a peaceful, loving environment in which to step away from daily pressures, focus on their spiritual side, and strengthen their inner resilience through meditation. As people connect with the divine Power within, he noted, life becomes more harmonious and filled with love.
The Science of Spirituality Meditation Center, Pasadena will host free, ongoing programs open to all, including:
- Meditation classes and workshops
- Weekly spiritual talks and meditation sessions in English, Hindi, and Spanish
- Children’s satsang and values-based programs
- Community service and outreach initiatives
All programs are offered free of charge and are open to people of all backgrounds and beliefs.
