Saturday Program in Lisle: Be Good. Do Good. Be One.
This evening, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj Ji explained how being good is about inculcating ethical virtues in our lives so that we lead more loving, nonviolent, truthful, humble, compassionate lives.
To “do good,” we must strive to use the gifts and resources that God has given us to bring joy and happiness to others. It is about doing what is right, not for ourselves, but for the betterment of the community, he said.
To “be one,” said the spiritual Master, is to fulfil our life’s purpose of being one with God. Our soul has been separated from God for eons. To be one, we must take steps to find our connection with God by sitting in silence through meditation.
When we focus our attention away from the world outside and into the spiritual realms within, we are able to remove the layers that shroud our soul so that it can rise above physical body consciousness and find its oneness with God—the culmination of the very purpose for which we have come into this world.
