A Spiritual Blueprint for a Life Well Lived

September 21, 2025

On the heels of the 29th Global Conference on Mysticism (September 13-20, 2025) Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj delivered his Sunday discourse at Kirpal Bagh, Delhi, shedding light on how to live a life that helps us grow on the spiritual path.

In his discourse this evening, the spiritual Master emphasized that spirituality is not confined to just sitting in meditation; rather, it must infuse every moment of our lives—our thoughts, words, and actions. This, he stressed, is the true measure of our closeness to God. While most of us understand in theory that we should speak and act lovingly, in practice we often fall short, losing our temper over the smallest things, he said.

Sant Rajinder Singh Ji explained that anger arises when life doesn’t meet our expectations, and though fleeting, it causes deep inner harm. Instead of reacting with frustration or harshness, we should strive to soothe others’ pains, offering sweet words, solace, and comfort as a source of peace and strength to those around us.

By taking a close look at whether we spend time remembering God or remain engulfed in outer distractions all day, we can ascertain where we stand on the spiritual path. Life is short, he said. It is not to be squandered in outer pursuits but should be dedicated to reaching our spiritual goal in this very lifetime.

The human form is a golden opportunity given to us by God to know our real self, the soul, and attain the merger of our soul with the Creator. A spiritual Master awakens in us the divine spark of love and ignites a deep yearning to return to our Source. It is up to us to walk the path with love, compassion, and a sincere effort to support and uplift one another.

Dwelling on the past with regret or resentment, overanalyzing events, or getting lost in a maze of “what ifs” serves no purpose. Likewise, excessive concern for the future only robs us of the present moment—the only time in which real spiritual progress can be made. What we need is an unshakable trust in God. Sant Rajinder Singh Ji spoke of five essential “instruments” for navigating the complexities of worldly life with resilience and grace. These are practicing remembrance of God, engaging in meditation, attending satsang (spiritual gatherings), serving others selflessly, and praying to God. Armed with these tools, we can move forward toward our ultimate goal of self-realization and God-realization and experience the indescribable bliss of the inner spiritual realms.
